Screen Repair?

Screen Repair?

How does the proverb go...? “Idle hands are the devil’s workshop; idle lips are his mouthpiece.

The problem

After recently finding myself with some “extra time” on my hands, I was approached by my friend who runs a Mobile Screen Repair service in the Inland Empire and Orange Counties in Southern California. During our initial conversations, my friend expressed interest in expanding his social engagements with static and video posts. The desire was (and still is) to increase customer connections and engagements in the near future.

After some kicking around of ideas, we came up with the following:

The solution

To create a more impactful, engaging social presence that leverages Mobile Screen Repair’s ability to consistently have fun with their subject matter—adding levity to old screens and the shotty ways we all attempt our home repairs (the various ways and scenarios where we use scotch tape, duct tape, or band-aids, etc.). We all have screens that need repair, but the stories we all share behind them can make our message stand out above the competitors. Mobile Screen Repair will continue to convey their appreciation and connection with customers, but they will not be afraid to add some fun and share their personality and unique touch to their services!

The calendar

It’s challenging to be creative with mobile screen repair, but I think I hit a few base hits in this series of posts. I focused on creating a social media calendar that would run over 30 days and play on general themes of common mistakes and national days of observance (i.e., National Scotch Tape Day, Valentine’s Day, etc.). I also created a few standard service promotions that could be used for area-boosted Facebook and Instagram ads.

The creative

In total, we created about 14 ads with a lead in the pre-post copy above each one (1 of which was contested by my friend at the final review). Not all of them are “winners”; they will not win awards or even appear in my portfolio; my only hope is to get my friend more interest and leads. I have never met a more deserving person. The man works hard and genuinely cares for his clients and his work. If you are interested in hiring him, I am sure you will find the number and contact info on one of the following pieces:

In addition to the static ads, I felt compelled to have a few animated pieces as they totally lent themselves to the medium and format. Those are located below.

Some initial results:

Thanks again for taking the time to read this post, and don’t forget to visit the Mobile Screen Repair Facebook page and give him a few likes on some of those posts!
